I can record (with guests), edit, host and publish. This saves a huge amount of time because I never have to move files around, uploading/downloading or transferring between different systems. Riverside's auto-transcription, text-based editing, and AI like fixing the audio and removing pauses also make it fast and easy to edit and get it out. > > **Inconvénients**: I've struggled with some bugs around recording and editing. If a guest joins the recording before the host, it can cause audio issues. The video editor can often freeze the browser and need a hard refresh. I also don't use many of the AI features - magic episodes or summaries don't seem that good. Producer mode is also very helpful as I am not the host and it keeps me from having to edit out my video in the final draft. Riverside makes the content creation process so much smoother and has eliminated the need for me to use multiple tools to produce my podcast. > > **Inconvénients**: Sometimes there are small glitches in the Magic Episodes and Magic Clips. It will cause sections of the episodes to be totally muted. I used Descript to edit the audio before, and I thought it was easier to remove filler words using their editing process. The titles/summaries of the episodes are not always super creative or original, but they aren't bad. I appreciate Riverside's effort to try and make everything on it's own, but some of it still needs to human touch. > > I use Riverside to produce my law firm's podcast. I also liked many of the editing features like being able to take out portions of video by simply taking out the text transcript. So easy\! > > **Inconvénients**: A lot of things were not as good as Zoom. You can’t share sound only. If you want to share your computer sound you must also share that screen with your audience or students. I’m a dance teacher so this is a feature I have to have. You can buy MP3s and then upload them to Riverside and play them, but the music will not line up with your body movements or mouth if you’re a singer in the recording. Laying music tracks over your video is nearly impossible in the editor because it randomly just jumps around. You also can’t animate graphics or text like you can if editing in Canva. Meaning, you can’t have things bounce in or anything special. The screen share is also an odd view, there is white space in the recording over the screen. > > Overall, it may be good for talking head videos or podcasters, but if you are an educator or want music or the ability to have a lot of co grip over the timeline graphics and text, this is not the software I would choose.
