Nookal has been a large improvement from our previous practice management software. There are a number of really good features, however there are some things that need a little tweaking that would make the overall use significantly easier for both administrators and therapists.

Avantages

Treatment notes are very easy to write. This saves therapists a large amount of time.
Multiple clinics with tabs makes looking across clinics very easy.

Inconvénients

Updating current therapist diaries has become very annoying. You can no longer edit a current timetable and have it begin from a certain date, as it automatically goes live from the date you input it on. This was not the case previously. This makes changing rosters troublesome and very annoying.

The paste feature should not push everything above it upwards. Very annoying when completing treatment notes, pasting something, then having the line above move up to continue on with the paragraphgearlier.

Phone app is terrible

Avantages

I like that the program doesn't need specific software to work and can be accessed online anywhere via any device.

Inconvénients

The mobile app is very clunky, not user intuitive, and lacks several features. This needs to be improved. It is also very frustrating that recurring appointments cannot be easily moved in bulk (they need to be cancelled and then re-booked at there new time)

Avantages

Good note taking. Clear and useable diary. Excellent online booking system.

Inconvénients

Diary set up could be more versatile, unable to open up a single day and enable bookings without opening that day going forward forever on that day. Drag and drop feature fiddly with short appointments.

In NZ very much needed improvements are very slow in coming as we are such a small portion of their business.

ACC claiming is woefully inefficient with some improvements but overall is much slower and time costly than other PMS's.

Great Piece of Software

Avantages

An easy to use product that helps make the day go smoothly. I like that it get's regular updates and can be used across a multidisciplinary clinic. Easy to update patient data and great for sending reminders to patient's.

Inconvénients

An update was made to the way we change the hours of the Diary and once a set diary sequence is applied you then have to change the original sequence and add a new one it for the sake of having a different person work a day they normally would be off. It takes a lot of time out of the day and the update doesn't work in favour of the user.

I've benefited from using Nookal and my organisational skills and productivity have really improved since using Nookal.

Avantages

I really enjoyed the ability to be creative with Nookal and colour code tasks, appointments, notes, which has made my organisational skills enhance.

I enjoy access to all documents and nookal notes and features such as pinning clinical notes, copy templates across and hide unwanted notes.

Inconvénients

Difficulty move one note/appointment and drag it to another day in the week. I often have to delete that appointment or note and re-enter it in a different time slot or day.

Incredibly user-friendly software

Avantages

Simple toggling between practitioners and sites. We are a business that employes physiotherapists, osteopaths and sports therapists - we are easily able to customise the notes on nookal to reflect the needs of each profession.

Inconvénients

The colour settings and icons on each appointment could be improved - icons (notes, new patient etc) are quite small. Perhaps a colour change to show when notes have been completed? Toggling between different cases can also be quite difficult - seems to auto-reset to the oldest case?

Tech support easy to chat with friendly and helpful in addition to their own help page with tips tricks for setting up various processes - With pictures and excellent descriptions.

Ease of use and sense of humor with developers

Inconvénients

Having trouble loading the diary page to fit within the parameters of smart phone screen. If I wish to log into the diary while out shopping and I see one of my patients that wants an appointment it would be good if the dairy page loaded to fit visually within the frame of a smart phone.

Inconvénients

inability to switch off the multi paractice and multi disciplinary aspects. You have to live with that. It's still may less than some other packages have.

Fantastic, an excellent team to deal with and they provide great support. User friendly program that does everything that you need

Avantages

Really easy to use and train staff. The diary and billing side of things are really straight forward with clinicians and admin easily learning how it all works. Easy to navigate and run reports for data analysis. Excellent support team and the best Help feature I have seen for a program.

Inconvénients

Honestly I cant think of any negatives. I have used a lot of practice management programs and Nookal is hands down the best system I have used. It is an all rounder

Unreliability of software - some bugs infrequently causing data (clinical notes and letters) to go missing.

Overall experience is very positive and I expect to be using it for many years to come.

Avantages

The setup checklist made it very straightforward for a new user and the software is intuitive. It has all the functions I was looking for that other software was lacking.

Inconvénients

No software is perfect and the DIY import could be improved, as not all patient details can be improved so you have to manually edit each one anyway. Though they will do this for you for a fee, if you have time to wait.

The client "arrived" function is good if you can keep an eye on it from treatment rooms.

Inconvénients

Perhaps more security for sensitive case files when in an Allied health system. Mental Health case notes need not be accessible to some physical therapists.
