Just Switched to Apricot. Love It So Far

Worked on another product for a long long time (which is also very good and powerful). Moved over to Apricot recently, and have been very pleased. It's not quite as powerful as the other product, but it's more user-friendly, and also a lot less expensive.

Avantages

Simple-to-understand form structure. They use a "Folder" concept to help you understand how the data is organized. Easy to link data from one folder to another. The form builder has a lot of simple but powerful features (like automated "Other" fields). The report engine is simple enough for most modestly tech savvy folk. And probably my favorite is the security controls...you can build security sets that inherit from other security sets. Saves a lot of time.

Inconvénients

There's a lot of whitespace that seems unnecessary. Means you might have to scroll a while. Reporting/exporting data is good, but not quite as powerful as some other products.

Going from word documents to case management software made a huge difference. It saves so much time, having all the information available in a locialize spot is so nice!

Avantages

I do like having all the information in one spot. I am able to see how my case managers are supporting their clients.

Inconvénients

I wish we had an option to view all the information in chronological order. I do like the current view, but it would be nice to have an option to view all documents in the order that they were entered.

My experience with Bonterra has been great overall. I have used it as a case management application in two different organizations for the last five years and seeing the improvements being made is encouraging. Hopefully in the near future we will see some AI integration.

Avantages

I like that we can customize forms to fit our needs and there are numerous templates from form designer that can be put to use. There are robust reporting features, security, support for multiple programs and customer support and training programs.

Inconvénients

It takes new users time to familiarize themselves with the application, We often require technical support to make some adjustments.

I like its overall stability while working multiple tabs simultaneously. Using the Apricot as a database, case notes, and case management in daily basis, often I open 20+ tabs and it just works fine.

Avantages

I like the simple graphic design, and wording made this software self-explanatory. I believe anyone can learn it without a training.

Inconvénients

"Archival Access" I don't see anything major that I dislike. It will make an excellent+ product if they add an option of "Record Edit Request" at least not to involve Admin privileges, just to request a "change to the records option" that way, the admin approve to deny the change will be an option.

Avantages

Easy to enter the information. Fairly well organized. Easy to look up individual details you may need.

Inconvénients

Reports should be easier to create and configure and adapt for what we need for grants, year end, and other necessary reporting.

I like that its easy to navigate, user friendly and every thing in a one to shop. Not only do we calculate our time, e can see our benefits, our pay information, and change our with holdings, and request our time off in one spot.

Inconvénients

I really haven't found anything I don't like about it.

Wish there was an easy route to a general blank document/template that could be saved as a native document.

Overall, my experience with Apricot Social Solutions has been very good - especially their support department. Having just-in-time support available via Chat has been a big part of why the system works for us.

Avantages

What I like the most about Apricot is that I can design my forms as I see fit, without writing any code.

Inconvénients

The features that could be improved include some aspects of reporting, as well as control over font sizes and form layouts.

We love how organized they keep our cases and clients. I couldn't imagine how we would keep everything in such great order without this system.

Inconvénients

My biggest con is that I am not able to customize my home page and have my cases on that.

Easy to use on Tablet and I do not have to get on my desk top.

Inconvénients

Cannot access housing and I have no archive button so I can archive files to add new.

It stayed very similar so it was easy to use daily and didn’t get confusing for someone who has used the previous system for years!

Avantages

The switch was very seamless! It made it a very easy transition!

Inconvénients

I didn’t really see a big issue during the development so it did not pose any issues! It did take away our ability to add or change some options when putting information into a clients account.

Avantages

Being able to store data in one place and easily access data to run reports is critical to our nonprofit. The staff and majority of our volunteers use it daily.

Inconvénients

Sometimes I’d prefer to talk with someone versus chat. I find the tiers of forms confusing.

Inconvénients

There are no step by step user manuals for basics. There should be more videos available to show users how to create profiles and enter data. There should be a manual that would show how each sections relates to another when entering data. We should know what are critical entries or not.

Avantages

The case management feature and the ease of ability to use the software for our staff is what I like most about it.

Inconvénients

The price of the different levels of software purchases. We have hired an outside consultant to work with us to get Apricot to where we need it to be at a much cheaper cost, and have accomplished a whole lot more.
