Avis clients sur Givebutter

My favorite features are the fundraising and online auction. We recently used this feature for a fundraiser and had a lot of success.

The customer service response time is great, however, one of the chat representatives was not helpful and did not know how to fix an error I made. He took a very long time trying to find the answer and ultimately was unable to help. Thankfully another representative reached out and my problem was fixed immediately.

The interface of the event website is really great. Our constituents like it and we've got great feedback that it looks nice and was easy to use

There are so many ways this didn't work for us. We signed up for the hybrid auction/event capabilities, and that it was free. However there are so many glitches that come up. For instance, in creating our ticket options for sales, we created a Ticket Bundle- 8 tickets for a discount. However, when someone makes that purchase they didn't create any way (we've reached out about it several times...) for this purchase to verify 8 attendees; it registers as 1 attendee. So we can't use their check in system built into the ticket sales because it's not accounting for multiple people! SO WE'VE HAD TO CREATE AN RSVP SPREADSHEET, a total nightmare, and transfer all rsvps via the website to the spreadsheet to account for actual bodies/attendees.

Additionally, as I mentioned before, I chose this platform for the Hybrid/online auction capabilities. However this also became a nightmare to deal with. There is no way for a ticket sale to assign a bid number automatically. So if guests want to bid, they have to sign up ADDITIONALLY ON THEIR OWN for a givebutter account, register their cc information, verify that through their personal email, then re-login to Givebutter to bid. This is THE BIGGEST BARRIER TO GIVING! We are now not even doing an online auction. Can you imagine going to an event, being told you have to login to a site, create an account, enter your cc info, check your email then log back into the site to bid? Would you even try??

Also we were told our transfer would be seamless with recurring/monthly donor plans because we already had a Stripe account and that's what Givebutter uses. We were obviously thrilled we could switch platforms and not have any interruption with our donors! However they use Stripe Express, which is actually DIFFERENT than a regular Stripe account. So if you're already using a Stripe account you'll have to get ANOTHER Stripe Express account that doesn't include important information about your constituents you already have in Stripe, like their customer ID numbers, cc info and more.

Also- we were going to move our CRM over. They said their support team would be really helpful in this regard, that we would have unlimited email tech support. However they have no sample CRM to look at or try. YOU HAVE TO BUILD OUT YOUR OWN CRM, taking any and every field from a platform you already use and create an excel etc that includes every field and somehow they will help you build your own platform. Their tech support for this was nowhere near what we needed in order to complete let alone start this. They basically point you to different videos they have so you can learn to code etc yourself.

Do not recommend based on current experience. I know they are always looking for recommendations to get better but the above seem pretty basic to include for auctions/events to offer this service. We are having to DOUBLE our platforms and efforts to get through this event since we launched it and learned later how incapable it was of handling basic event needs. Don't make the same mistake we did.

I love how easy and intuitive it is to use, how responsive the employees are when you need help, and how you can keep just about everything in one place. They also have a system of voting for new features that you want to be included in the next update, which I love.

The only thing we have a hard time with is business contacts. They want us to put first name, last name rather than the name of the business. However, I believe this is something they are working on.

I have loved the easy setup, the easy access to in person support, and how much is included in the free version - especially the ability to create different types of campaigns, make different fund selections available, and add custom fields to our donor database.

The two biggest issues we have had are these: 1. the *optional* fees to our donors do not always appear optional and require several clicks to remove - we eventually elected to pay a fee for GiveButter in order to remove the fee suggestion to our donors who were growing offput. - And 2. I was surprised and disappointed that GiveButter does not have the ability to "soft credit" a donor who gives through some type of investment account, which is a common way for many people to give. This has complicated things for us significantly.

This is a very user friendly platform. We use this on our website and have received a lot of donations so far.

I love the ease of access to transferring funds however, the platform auto fills in the response to donating a percentage of our donations to 3%. I believe this should be auto filled to 0%

I like that it is free to non profits but would be worth it to those that are not no profit

How easy and friendly the back end is. Also, our donors all have paid the fee so far!

I wish it would integrate and or let us create our newsletters in it.

We run multiple fundraisers on same account, so the lists of names gets mixed.

When transfer to our bank account, would be nice to have a few words appear on transfer on bank statement. We have multiple fundraisers and they all transfer as “Givebutter”. If we could make it say “Givebutter basketball” or even a few letters so the person doing bank reconciliation knows which of the 5 Givebutter sub accounts the transfer came from.

It was so easy to set up auction items.

It also wouldn't let us assign live auction items to the winners nor would it let us add raise the paddle donors to the program to be charged!

The platform is very easy to use and user friendly.

I would like to see options for customizing reports for events.

The ability to delete events from the dashboard when they are over.

I am currently loving that we can use Givebutter to make our annual fundraising Silent Auction virtual. This is going to make the event more engaging and the auction process/check-out MUCH easier.

The only struggle we have had since switching to Givebutter was that we did not set it up initially for automatic transfer to our bank and were unaware that we had donations coming it that hadn't been transferred yet. But it was a pleasant surprise to see we had a pot of money sitting there by the time we realized that error on our part.

Givebutter is easy to use for untrained volunteers. There is lots of online and phone help, and it doesn't require special programming.

You have to turn off special requests for donations to Givebutter, and accept a different forumula that lets you pay a percent of the donation. But we don't object to this. We understand Givebutter has to make some money somehow.

I love that Givebutter sends emails to the administrator with every donation that is made or ticket that is bought. That is the reason we keep using Givebutter--so that we can act as a concierge service and be known for being helpful and responsive to our patrons. I also love that the forms are visually beautiful, customizable, and professional.

The lack of ability to sell tickets through the app or for patrons to be able to select seats from a seating chart makes the "Event" function of Givebutter far less useful than it could be for us. I would recommend Givebutter to every music nonprofit that I know if it had those features, but because those features aren't available, I can't recommend Givebutter to anyone else in my industry, and have to put up with the service's limitations in the meantime. Just in our artistic specialization in New York, I estimate that $2 million per year of donations and ticket sales could be processed through Givebutter if it had those features. If any other company sent us automatic emails after someone made a donation or bought a ticket and had adequately professional forms, we would stop using Givebutter and switch services immediately. I just hope that Givebutter will prioritize the "Events" so that we can keep using the service and recommend it to other organizations.

I love how many ways there are to accept donations and keep track of them as well. Even if you receive cash, you can put it in the system to keep track of who donated and how much.

If there was a better way to make a spreadsheet of past donors to reach out to them the following year.

Givebutter was smooth as butter! It helped us track donations and build a database of donors.

I didn't see a way to alphabetize the names of ticket sales for an easier check in process during our recent event.

As a startup nonprofit, Givebutter made donations and fundraising online possible. The team is incredibly timely, supportive and creative.

I get a few too many emails from Givebutter - end up deleting most.
