Most fundraising vendors I've worked with feel very "salesy". Not Bloomerang. The company is made up of genuinely good people who honestly care about improving nonprofits' relationships with donors and helping them reach fundraising goals. I've been a customer for over 10 years and their culture continues to be this way. I also love how much time I save - other CRMs require a lot of time to clean up and input data; with Bloomerang I am able to spend more time actually raising money.
Avantages
The reporting meets all our needs, data is easy to import and read, customer service and tutorial videos and articles are on point, and the company offers continuing education courses on fundraising strategies.
Inconvénients
I've converted to Bloomerang from other CRMs at three different organizations now. Whatever cons they are, they are very minimal, and Bloomerang is constantly improving its system. Any major cons I could think of in the past have been resolved through upgrades they've done over the years. If I ever do have an issue, they are extremely open to feedback and will add my concerns to their list of features to improve.

Avantages
Easy to migrate our database to Bloomerang. Basic features work well.
Inconvénients
The forms are extremely difficult to embed on your website and look terrible. They advised us to hire a web developer, but we worked with two and they could not work with the forms. Very disappointing as 95 % of our donations are online. Overall the software is clunky and needs to be updated. Customer service was terrible.

Overall, my experience with Bloomerang has been positive. The software is user-friendly and offers great tools for managing donors and tracking fundraising efforts. It’s especially strong in its reporting and analytics features. However, the limited customization options might be a drawback for some organizations.
Avantages
What I really like about Bloomerang is how easy it is to use. Its dashboard gives you a clear view of donor engagement and fundraising performance, which makes tracking and improving your efforts straightforward. The reporting tools are also very handy for analyzing your data and making smart decisions. Plus, their strong customer support and training resources make sure you get the most out of the software.
Inconvénients
One thing I found less appealing about Bloomerang is that its customization options can be somewhat limited. It might not offer as much flexibility for tailoring features to very specific needs as some other platforms do.

Avantages
I liked that there was an easy way to assign tasks to users.
Inconvénients
The system was very clunky and not intuitive. It was expensive for us to keep bad data and we ended up switching to a platform that offered everything that Bloomerang did for less.

Easy to learn and use. Great for communicating with supporters and donor management. Good customer service and helpful articles/videos if you run into problems or have questions.

The system is extremely intuitive and easy to use. When working with data-entry volunteers, they catch on very quick.
Avantages
When you have a question, help is there within seconds! I frequently need to pull reports based on a variety of criteria, and their guidance is phenomenal. They don't do it for you, they TEACH you how to do it yourself, so you become more skilled at it! You also can create tasks with due dates to help keep you on track.
Inconvénients
I wish there was a way to temporarily "tag" specific donors when needed for a custom report or email. Instead, I need to create a new custom field that meets the particular need.

they could not keep track of our customer account, and when I personally set up a debit account and wanted to terminate it, they were unable to do so.

Overall a great experience with Bloomerang and would highly recommend for anyone wanting to utilize a CRM system. It allows for both the pro and new user to feel comfortable and confident.
Avantages
The switch to Bloomerang was caused by the need for our non-profit to begin utilizing new technology to track not only communication, but honors bestowed, event attendance and registration, and donations. I can say Bloomerang does a great job with all of these things! The ability to add custom fields to a constituents profile allows for necessary unique tracking and plethora of donation tracking types allows us to keep up with the growing ways in which donors engage with us.
Inconvénients
I would like to see a more customized homepage for constituents. Total sum of all transactions is obviously important, but ability to see a summarized view of their contributions to a multi-year campaign would allow to increased ease to our employees. I would also like to see either an Outlook Plugin or 1-on-1 mailing software with template's saved directly in Bloomerang. Each donor can have a slightly different message or details, so having that ability to pull a template and customize before sending (without having to go through MailChimp's webpage and pulling report) would make a huge difference.

Inconvénients
We have been on Bloomerang for 2 weeks. So far, I have learned that:The Bloomerang interaction dropdown is all donor facing - there's no way to describe interactions with students except "other" - and the menu can't be changed. There's no ability to pre-load brand guidelines (logo, colors, font) that would pre-populate letters & emails For events, there's no way to show sponsors or honorees on an event page. It requires self-hosting - which costs us $$ for web design services. On Kindful events, I can't set up discount tickets - I was told to set up A SEPARATE EVENT for free tickets, which is ridiculous. I can't change the order of ticket types without deleting and re-entering them (this is minor).There's also no way to track non-fundraising event attendance, as for one of our workshops. They can't have a $0 ticket. Even in the Year-End Tax Receipts webinar yesterday, when the presenter pulled up the template for that very letter on Bloomerang, it wasn't set up as he recommended but had to be customized. It seems like nearly everything in this program requires a workaround, and that it really is entirely a donor management program and not set up for constituents.

Avantages
Bloomerang rose to the top of my research in finding a CRM for our nonprofit because of the features, ease of use and reasonable cost.
Inconvénients
No glaring challenges but a few glitches around the kindful integration that could improve like the functionality of the crowdsourcing and event pieces that are causing duplicates but also not allowing changes to be made to pages etc.

Avantages
Bloomerang is a great tool to manage our donor interactions, gifts, preferences, and fundraising efforts. We love the task and note functions as it reminds us when we need to follow-up with a donor and gives us the ability, in one central location, to make notes on how we have completed the task or any other communication with the donor.
Inconvénients
It is a bit tricky to import our direct mail sends into Bloomerang. The first time I did it I wiped out the whole system, but luckily support got me back up and running asap.

Avantages
In my last job we used Raisers Edge which is an amazing product but was much to much for us. Bloomerang is completely right sized for a small to mid-sized organization without a huge or complex development team.
Inconvénients
I would like the more control over the merge functions and I this this is on the product development list.

I received a great customer service when I had challenges in using Donor Management software. The customer service team was so helpful and very polite and gently in guiding me through the whole process. Right now I am using it without hiccups! Kudos to Bloomerang team

The software is at first difficult to use and intergrate in my line of work but as I was taught by the team, now it seems easier.

We use Bloomerang at our non-profit, which raises $10M. As a team of one, I rely on Bloomerang to keep me organized and make reporting + tax receipts quick and easy. The seamless integration with QGiv also makes my life easier.
Avantages
My favorite thing about Bloomerang is the ease of use - it is extremely intuitive, especially compared to a product like Raiser's Edge. I also appreciate the Customer Service - every inquiry is responded to in a timely manner, and customer service representatives go above and beyond to help.
Inconvénients
The initial sign-on period was a bit frustrating, as our representative did not seem that knowledgeable and did not give great advice. However, in the years since this, we have been impressed with the Bloomerang team and have not had any bad experiences since.

Avantages
Love, love, love Bloomerang. I have used many other databases, and the ease of use is incredible. When I do hit a roadblock I just call customer care and they walk me through it.
Inconvénients
Not thrilled about MailChimp (would prefer Constant Contact). Too few fonts, can't customize as much as I would like. The setup for letters is not the best. Hard to make the letters look centered on the page (huge margin on the bottom, so everything is stuck near the top). Would like more flexibility with creating the letters.

I am a fairly new user and have no previous experience with this type of software. However, I had 20 years in the medical field and this reminds me of an EMR. Very easy to navigate through and manage data.
Avantages
I work for a very busy small nonprofit. Between the ease of use and the fabulous tutorial videos I was able to basically teach myself how to use Bloomerang. Overall, I think this is a great program and I look forward to learning additional tips and trick so I can use it more efficiently.
Inconvénients
It would be nice if Bloomerang allowed entries for households with more than one donor to share the same profile, while still being able to differentiate the specific donor. When we run mass mailings we find we have to meticulously comb over our labels to look for duplicates.

The ease of use was awful - we tried to run our first campaign out of it but we had several people choose to not participate because of the difficulty of setting up a donor pageThe biggest issue was that they shut off our donation capabilities (without telling us) on Giving Tuesday. They said that they blocked fraudulent payments so they did their job. We missed out on funds that we cannot recover and they still believe they did the right thing.

Avantages
As someone relatively new to our organization and to the field of development, I have found Bloomerang easy to use. I've heard horror stories about learning to navigate CRMs, and none of those have held true with Bloomerang.
Inconvénients
I wish it had an option for connecting with donors through text messages.
